Friends Gary and Daniel
Making use of Wordaro, I have a question and opinions to offer. Obviously, this is not about software development, because I understand nothing about it. You two are true experts on the subject, but I'm just a home computer’s user. My goals cover only the body of the dictionary, the words themselves, the translations.
First, I would like to ask Gary how did he get the words in Portuguese, because I do not know any vocabulary Monda-Portuguese. I'm curious to know.
Now we have the following: the program Wordaro, presents three columns: one of them, at the left, under the name "Serci Wordo", a second with the name "Konkurso Wordo" and the third, with the name "Komentos&rdquo
I would suggest changing the name of the first column for "Sercata Wordo", simply because it is a more suggestive expression, for the moment that the word you are looking for has appeared in the original, on this first column, it is now a "word that is being sought”, whose translation appears in the second column, so "Sercata Wordo” is an expression that exactly indicates what occurs.
On the second column, the word "konkurso" (of the expression “Konkurso Wordo”) in Mondlango has the same meaning of "match" in English, only when it refers to a competition, for example, a competition for a job, a competitive sport etc., in which you strive to be the best of all who are competing. In this case, the word that should replace the expression "Konkurso Wordo" is simply "traduko".
In the third column, the word "Komentos" is perfect. This column, however, should be further exploited for more definitive commentary on the word translated. For example, when you look for the word "artiklo", you find under "Komentos" only the word "ensaio", in portuguese, which has nothing to do with the meaning of that word in my language. Better to say, “artigo de jornal ou revista”; também “peça de roupa ou outro objeto vendido numa loja” ("newspaper or magazine article", also "piece of clothing or other object sold in a store").
Another thing on the horizontal menu: we have the word "helpi". The correct is "helpo".Noun, not verb.
Another problem: when you do the search using the % sign, both in Monda-Portuguese and Portuguese-Monda, the word list only appears in the position of Monda-Portuguese.
Still in %, on the list of words beginning with the letter "a" (I am not sure if the words beginning with other letters also have this problem), to some extent shows the position Monda-Portuguese, and from a certain point on, shows Portuguese-Monda position.
I realized that when I look for several words in Monda to see the translation in Portuguese, the translation appears in English and not in Portuguese. There is some mixture of languages.
Many words in Monda in the singular, show the translation in Portuguese in the plural form.
Translation errors do not occur only in Portuguese, but also in Esperanto and even in English. I don’t know if it is useful, but the word list for the user interface in Portuguese is:
File -> Arquivo
Help -> Ajuda
Exit -> Sair
About -> Sobre
Search -> Buscar
Language -> Idioma
Comments -> Comentários
Vocabulary -> Vocabulário
Match Word -> Tradução
Search Word -> Buscar palavra
Application -> Aplicação
I ask how will you fix it?
Do I have access to the correction of words in Portuguese, in Esperanto, and possibly even in English if I notice the error?
Certainly, at another time I’ll find other problems that we have to solve.
I know it is a problem not so easy to be solved, but I am sure you will be able to solve it.
The vocabulary is absolutely necessary to write and speak any language. Many common words are not in the vocabulary and others should be changed in order to have a more accurate translation.
oiam.
