Lesono 1: Alfabeto (Alphabet)

Monda uses the standard 26-letter Latin / English alphabet, but some letters are pronounced differently. The alphabet is designed to be as simple as possible. Each letter has only one sound.

Vowels:
a, e, i, o, u (are, pen, three, or, too).
Consonants:
b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, x, z.
Semivowels:
w, y - semivowels can be combined with vowels to form diphthongs: "ay" ([ai] as in pie), "ey" ([ei] as in hey), "oy" ([oi] as in boy), "aw" ([au] as in auto), "ow" ([ou]).

Accent/stress: When you pronounce a word, the stress is always in the second last syllable. For example: frato (sibling), fratulo (brother), fratino (sister).
